Beach hazards statement issued for Eastern Currituck until Monday evening

At 3:32 a.m. on Monday, the NWS Wakefield VA issued a beach hazards statement valid between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
The NWS informs, "High risk of rip currents expected."
"Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. Breaking waves of 3 to 5 feet can cause neck and back injuries," adds the NWS. "Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions."
This statement is in effect until 8 p.m.
