UPDATE: Weather alert in place for Rockingham and Caswell counties Friday night

On Friday at 7:57 p.m. an updated special weather statement was released by the NWS Blacksburg VA until 10 p.m. for Rockingham and Caswell counties.

"Strong winds ahead of storms approaching from the west may cause downed trees and power lines, and could lead to power outages and structure damage," says the NWS.

This alert is in effect until 10 p.m.
