UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning for the Piedmont region expected to expire at 10:45 p.m.

The warning was in place for Franklin, Halifax, Nash and Warren counties.
"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm, therefore a Special Weather Statement has been issued," says the NWS Raleigh NC.
The warning is in effect until 10:45 p.m.
