UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning likely to expire at 5:45 p.m.

The warning was for Alexander and Caldwell counties.

"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm," says the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC.

The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m.
