Time eludes saving
Could anyone after a deep and restful sleep not have awakened this morning to find their timepieces in disarray, out of coordination with a new-found brightness to the skies and the birds finished with morning chores?
Daylight saving time is now official, but it only changes clocks, not time. Time, uninterrupted, flows on, undeterred by man’s fervent wishes to halt it, or even turn it back.
Time moves in eons and moments. It is measured by the shifting of continents, the rising of mountains, the first creeping of a fish-like creature upon the beaches of an unexplored world and starlight that takes centuries to reach our eyes. We change our clocks, but time changes everything.
