Milton Kendall: Dangerous drivers

I found the headline “Police losing battle to get drivers to put down their phones” unsurprising and maddening. When are our lawmakers going to take this public safety issue seriously? Laws need to be easy to enforce for our public safety officers and fines heavy enough to make drivers who endanger lives think about the legal and financial consequences before using their phone for any reason in a running vehicle.

As a bike commuter, this is also a very personal issue as I am only flesh and bone and will lose the battle with a distracted driver every time.
