Laurie McDowell: The honesty issue

Regarding the Sept. 7 news article “To win, Trump needs suburban white women to support him”: To the suburban white women who feel that Donald Trump is more honest than Hillary Clinton, please check Politifact.com, which has won a Pulitzer Prize (you can Google that while you’re at it) and read about which candidate is more honest. Hint: It is not Trump.

Clinton has been in public service most of her life, and she has spent this time trying to make like better for women and children, including suburban white women, who sometimes need assistance. She has helped pass laws that provide insurance for children, mental health for veterans, increased funding for prostate cancer research. She supports raising the minimum wage, which would help suburban white women, and she advocates policies to address climate change, which is a real thing that affects suburban white women.

Perhaps if these suburban white women turned to news outlets other than right-wing sites, they would learn not only how dishonest Trump truly is but also that Hillary Clinton is uniquely qualified to be our next president.
