Wilton Strickland: A map to respect

Regarding the Aug. 30 news article “Experiment shows ‘better way’ for voting districts”: Finally! The voting districts map with the story illustrated very nicely what I’ve been advocating for more than 30 years – that our voting districts should be composed of enough contiguous municipal districts (cities, towns, counties) to meet the population numbers required per district without regard to politics. Now, maybe, just maybe, if our fools and clowns in Raleigh could show enough common sense and integrity to do what is right and follow this example, North Carolina could stop being the laughingstock of the world.
