Tiffany Bair: Zika is not a joke

Regarding the Sept. 4 news article “Lawmakers going back to work, briefly”: You’ve got to be kidding me. The holdup on financing much-needed research to find a cure for the Zika virus is that the Republicans tied funding to defunding Planned Parenthood (thank God for them when I was in college and needed affordable health care) and overturning a ban of flying that treasonous rag, the Confederate flag at federal cemeteries?

These are their priorities while we have pregnant women in danger of having deformed babies and the rest of us in danger of contracting it and getting very ill?

This has to be a joke. But the laugh’s on us.

Vote these children, who lack the integrity to do the right thing for all of us, out in November and vote to put some adults in office who can get things done in Congress.
