Bruce Vukoson: GOP trying to silence our voices

Regarding the Sept. 8 news article “NCGOP leader lobbied counties to offer only a single early voting site”: It seems the NCGOP is afraid of fair elections. With micro-gerrymandering (unconstitutional), making it more difficult to vote by a number of means (unconstitutional) and the last-gasp attempt to limit voting times, places and days to what will minimally pass legal muster, who can’t see the intent?

If Republicans have such a grand plan and vision for North Carolina, why are they afraid they would lose in an election where they didn’t pick their voters and didn’t control the act of voting as much as can be gotten away with? It shouldn’t matter our political leaning, it’s wrong.

We should all demand that those who would seek to silence any of our individual voices in any way never hold public office.

Bruce Vukoson
