Evelyn Dove-Coleman: Museum of healing

The Smithsonian African-American Museum of History & Culture is now officially open in Washington. It has the potential to go a long way in the healing of race relations in America. Just as our Jewish part of the human family endured a horrific Holocaust, our African-American part of the human family endured a savage slavery.

It is time to stop anything that is not inclusive and fair because we are all one human family. I hope the governors across America will allot funds for every child in school to take an annual field trip to the African-American Museum of History. Let’s heal our country.

Evelyn Dove-Coleman
