Horace Whitaker: ACC lacking integrity

The ACC should reconsider pulling the football championship game from Charlotte. When one looks at the violations of its players and universities, I would say the conference needs to clean up its own house before trying to use extortion to influence politicians.

Louisville with its sex scandal, FSU paying off Jameis Winston’s sexual assault accuser, UNC with its academic fraud and recently a football player charged with rape and Syracuse with its academic fraud and drug testing violations are the recent examples of misconduct by these schools and some of their players.

The House Bill 2 problem will be solved hopefully through mutual concessions where both sides can reach a happy medium. Let’s leave politics out of sports, and hopefully the ACC will focus on building some integrity into its conference.
