Tom Clemmer: Recognize academic achievements

As a proud graduate of N.C. State, I congratulate the university on its recent remodeling of Reynolds Coliseum and its Athletic Hall of Fame. Recognition of its memorable athletic past is certainly well deserved.

But I wonder if many people realize that there is also a perhaps lesser known and often overlooked aspect of the university. There are actual scientists and other academics in diverse disciplines who labor there to share their knowledge with students and to conduct cutting edge research.

Many of these faculty members and the students they mentored have achieved world renown in academics, industry, government and the military and have made significant and lasting contributions to the welfare of humanity.

When I go to visit the athletic shrines, I would also like to visit the Academic Hall of Fame. Could someone please tell me where it is?
