Foster Thorbjornsen: Real men don’t talk like Trump

As a man, I am indignant that Donald Trump is trying to excuse his vulgar talk abut sexually assaulting women as “locker room talk.”

In addition to attempting to normalize such despicable attitudes about women, Trump’s excuse insults men as well because it conveys the false impression to women that this is just something all men do. This is yet another example of Trump using the schoolyard equivalent of “but they do it too.”

I resent the fact that Trump wants my wife, daughters and mother to believe this is how my buddies and I talk when us guys get together. On the contrary, most men have rather low opinions of the few other men who do talk like this. We don’t think of them as men. We think of them as immature boys who cannot properly relate to women.

Ladies, please know that real men don’t talk like Trump.

Foster Thorbjornsen
