Fred Norman: A GOP win would kill ACA

Regarding the Oct. 7 Charles Krauthammer column “The stillborn legacy of Barack Obama”: A more appropriate title for this hit piece would be “The killing of Obamacare by the obstructionist GOP.”

Actually, the ACA is not dead yet, but due to the numerous attempts to repeal, change parts of it, repeal parts of it, hampering it in every way the opponents of it could, including several lawsuits, it seems moribund.

Its life or death depends on the party winning the presidency. A win by Hillary Clinton will serve to sustain it, and if Congress, or even just the Senate goes blue, it could be strengthened. The mind boggles at the health care plan we could have, if “the party of no” had involved itself in cooperating and trying for a better plan.

The obstructionism would be a lot less objectionable if there were any, any, plan to make some kind, any kind, of health care plan. Instead, The GOP’s plan seems to be to let every person live, or die, by their own income and only their income.
