William Conner: ACA’s pitfalls
Regarding the Oct. 27 Froma Harrop column “ACA isn’t ‘Crazy,’ it’s working”: Ever notice how those who defend Obamacare and claim it is working, as does Harrop, speak at length about the subsidies that will greatly reduce the premium cost for most of those who sign up for the ACA.
What the defenders never mention or discuss is the ever-growing deductibles and the continual narrowing of doctor and hospital networks that are an inherent part of the ACA.
The first item alone renders coverage under the ACA for many simply unaffordable despite the subsidized premiums; they pay more for their doctors and drugs than their insurance costs them. Where is the benefit in that?
