Phillip J. Stiles: Working together will bring us together

Regarding the Donald Trump victory: I have no sense where this turbulent wind is blowing. It certainly has increased in swings of direction lately. I anticipate gusts, storms, hurricanes and peaceful breezes and hope for the latter.

Perhaps from the pits we are in, we can realize that we are all in together, we can begin to listen to the voices of others and then, just maybe, have a conversation on our commonalities.

Perhaps we will end up with two parties, swirling close around the flag pole, first one way and then the other, but close to the pole. Let’s not have the redbirds and bluebirds flying south in opposite seasons.

May we remember that in spite of what we differ on, we have more in common as Americans, and that should propel us from our history to our future.
