Kirk McDuffie: Rampell’s elite view shows

The caustic and arrogant rantings of Catherine Rampell’s opinion in the Nov. 11 column “Americans have voted for Trumpism. Let them have it.” demanded a response.

She has learned nothing from the election. Instead of a let’s see what happens position, she has opined that Donald Trump will fail at every promise he made during his campaign. Apparently name calling is still what she feels is necessary versus an attitude of working together.

What is worse is that she continues to look down her nose with such contempt at those who supported and were responsible for Trump being the President-elect. We are all the deplorables that Hillary Clinton referenced, and we’re going to get what’s coming to us.

She gives no respect that many Americans believe Trump will make positive changes to our nation. She just can’t bring herself to think that she could be in error in her judgment.

Her sheer arrogance is a perfect example of why there is such division in this country. How very sad that she believes she is of such high intellect that only her position is going to come to fruition. As an optimistic American, I have no doubt she will be proven wrong.
