Ronald Sederoff: Double standard

Nearly half of American voters supported Donald Trump, and it is no surprise that people from the right and left now say “give Trump a chance.” But I can’t get past a few fundamental things.

Do they mean, give racism a chance? Give bigotry a chance? Give sexism a chance? Give ignorance a chance? How about “give sexual assault and violence a chance.” Where these ideas have had their chance, it has not gone well.

And are some of those who said, “don’t give Obama a chance,” actually expecting more generosity from us for Trump?
