George Johnson: GOP cheating system

The Republican majority in our Congress refused to consider President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court in order to let the “next” president have that honor.

But here in North Carolina, the justice we elected gave our Supreme Court a Democratic majority. And now a plan is being considered to add two seats to our court in order to circumvent the people’s choice? And they want those seats to be appointed by the losing, outgoing governor instead of the “next” one?

When the cheating is this obvious, how can anyone keep a straight face?
