Ken Caudell: Use legitimate sources for news

Regarding Froma Harrop’s Nov. 21 column “Goodbye, Facebook. You’re evil.”: I realize that my friends on Facebook are giving me a very one-sided view of the news. I know that the “news” on Facebook is often fake, or deliberate lies to serve a political end.

I’m going to keep my account there, but I’m going to stop posting and reposting political “information.”

I will get my news from legitimate sources, like The News & Observer, The New York Times, The Washington Post, the BBC and NPR. I realize that these sources have their own political viewpoints, but I know where they are coming from, and that they don’t publish lies. Sometimes they are wrong, but I don’t believe deliberately. Their articles are vetted.

I hope more people will do the same, and reserve Facebook for other things than the news.
