Fred A. Howes: Zane’s false GOP view
Regarding the Nov. 23 J. Pedar Zane column “Democrats may be incapable of taking the high road”: Zane harped on Democrats playing their one and only card – divisive politics powered by a Pope-like sense of infallibility.
They, the Democrats, have that core conviction that they are virtuous and right. What planet is he living on? What he said is a psychology term called projection.
What he described as his version of Democrats is exactly what the Republicans do. He needs to read some history about his view of the Republican Party. It isn’t pretty.
There is no perfect political view, although he thinks the Republicans have it. The problem is that Republicans continue to do the same thing over and over again, i.e. trickle-down economics, wanting government to legislate what a woman can and can’t do with her personal health, cut taxes at the expense of education, abuse the civil rights law that hurts minorities, etc.
