Richard Oliver: GOP doesn’t know ‘high road’
Regarding the Nov. 23 J. Peder Zane column “Democrats may be incapable of taking the high road”: Zane should buy a mirror and take a long hard look.
After a campaign that began with Donald Trump calling Mexican immigrants “criminals” and “rapists,” rallies where he called for “Second Amendment people” to take matters into their own hands if the election did not go their way and for jailing his opponent, Zane really wanted to lecture Democrats about “the high road”?
Trump crawled through a gutter on his way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., assisted by the endorsement of the KKK, the collusion of the Kremlin, neither of which Trump denounced or disavowed and an archaic, deeply undemocratic relic called the Electoral College.
One wonders how gracious Republicans would be if the facts were reversed and Hillary Clinton was about to be inaugurated despite losing the popular vote by more than two million votes. My guess is, not very.
