Malette Poole: Don’t rely on Fox News for facts

Regarding the Nov. 30 letter “Out-of-control spending”: My curiosity over where the letter writer got the figures he used is overwhelming me.

Sadly for people who want to denigrate all President Obama has accomplished in eight years, despite determined and intemperate opposition by Congress, he has actually decreased the deficit rate he inherited from the outgoing Republican administration.

And the false equivalencies do nothing to explain how using North Carolina taxpayer monies to defend laws in court which we know will be overturned is a responsible use of the money coming out of my pocket.

Oh, and Fox News is not really a place one can get accurate figures on deficits and whose administration ran them up. Just saying.
