Maurice Brookhart: GOP disproved voter ID

Gov. Pat McCrory and his backers combed through election results in nearly every county looking for voter fraud. Many accusations were made which, in the end, came to nothing. There was no voter fraud.

Is anyone surprised in light of the stiff penalties for committing such fraud? What one person, let alone hundreds or thousands, would risk a felony conviction to cast a fraudulent vote?

Let’s thank the Republicans whose thorough investigations have clearly established what common sense would dictate: A voter ID law is unnecessary and an added expense to taxpayers.
