Rebecca Kelley: Allow patients access to cheaper Canadian pharmacies
It was with sadness and frustration that we read the Nov. 23 letter “Drug prices out of control,” in which the letter writer shared her all-too-common story as a patient struggling to afford life-saving prescriptions here in the Unite States, only to find the same medication is a fraction of the cost in Canada.
We represent millions of Americans who, like the writer, cannot afford medications they need to survive and to maintain their health and quality of life. We hear daily from those who must choose between their health and other essential needs. This is both a moral outrage and a health crisis that impacts individuals and our health care system.
We agree with the writer that Congress must act to lower drug prices and ensure Americans can afford prescribed medications. Allowing Americans to more freely exercise their right to access affordable medications under the guidance of their doctor and from safe, verified online Canadian pharmacies, would provide an immediate and vital lifeline.
Join our cause and demand Congress support importation of personal prescriptions from credentialed, safe Canadian pharmacies, ensuring consumers in Raleigh and beyond have a safe, affordable option.
