J.R. Bradley: Coyotes won evolutionary war over red wolves
Your March 1 editorial “On the edge” was wrong. It is not the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission that is pushing the red wolf into oblivion; the coyote did that many generations ago.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has fought a losing battle to resurrect the red wolf to the status of genetic purity despite a nearly 30-year program and untold millions of dollars of taxpayer monies. Let’s face facts: The coyote won.
