As an elementary school principal for many years, I had a fair number of students visit my office for various misdeeds. After reviewing the teacher’s discipline referral, more often than not the student would tell me their side of the incident using alternative facts. Every time, the alternative facts were always followed by the student’s pants catching on fire.
