Susan B. Buker: Berger won’t compromise

I’m greatly dismayed by Sen. Phil Berger’s response to Gov. Roy Cooper’ s State of the State speech. It sounds like he has totally dismissed working with the governor. But Berger was elected by the voters in District 26, not the entire state as Cooper was.

Berger can decry Cooper’s win all he wants, but guess who had the most votes? And many polls have shown that voters prefer to see the two parties working together for the good of the people. Berger cannot ignore that forever.
