D.G. Mathews: Vintage venom from GOP

Rep. Nelson Dollar’s March 3 letter “Nothing to show” demonstrates precisely the similarity between the attacks on John Spencer Bassett and that on the UNC Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity. The attack on Bassett was ad hominem, and the attack on the center was also an attack on a man for being who he is and what he professes.

Dollar’s denunciation of Professor Gene Nichol is the kind of personal abuse we have come to expect from Republicans. They can’t help themselves. Must be something in Cary’s water supply.
