Bill Spencer: McCrory and lawyer need better training

When I was a state employee, I couldn’t afford a lawyer to misread the Ethics Commission’s Statement of Economic Interest forms or to tell me that “ethics form amendments were needed to correct his own misinterpretations.”

Instead I relied on the Ethics Commission’s annual training, which was mandatory for all employees required to file an SEI.

By this means, I was able to file my SEIs correctly the first time, every time. It is appalling to me that our governor can’t do the same.
