Regarding your March 18 news article “Battle lines form over incentives”: A bribe is when a business offers or receives money or gifts to influence actions, which can result in fines or prison.

It is disappointing that the business environment is so bad and taxes are so high that North Carolina must bribe companies to locate in the state.

Yes, they may call it an incentive, but it is really a bribe.
