Joseph Ustach: Guns in the General Assembly
Regarding the March 31 news article “Several gun bills filed, with more on the way”: Does Senate Bill 708, allowing a secret class of concealed weapons permit-holders, mean that our well-regulated militia can now infiltrate the N.C. General Assembly? Or does the General Assembly not allow even law enforcement to carry weapons into its hallowed halls?
But wait, that won’t stop the secret class, because the bill will allow the secret class to carry handguns into any place that posts signs prohibiting concealed firearms. The GA should be careful what it wishes for.
