David Crump: Jobs will be filled
Regarding the April 4 column “Inequality threatens Triangle’s rise”: So Ned Barnett these days feels that we are doomed to never progress economically because poor people are moving in and the concern is that we will not have enough people to fill all those high-tech jobs that require educated people.
News flash: $100,000 jobs will be filled with people from here or anywhere else; they will move here if the offer is good enough. Poor people move here because they know that it is better to be poor here than in rural areas. Poor people are poor, but they are not stupid. Don’t worry ’bout a thing.
