Laurie McDowell: Did taxed residents vote for GOP?

As a recent transplant to Raleigh, I’ve been following resident reactions to the new tax structure in The N&O. People are very upset, and rightfully so, that their tax burden has increased under Republican leadership. Many are in dire financial straits because of their new tax obligations.

How many of these people voted for Republicans who changed the tax structure?
