Abortion not a good choice

In the April 8 Point of View “A GOP attack on health choices,” Lisa Levenstein claimed that Republicans don’t see us as human beings “who need to terminate pregnancies to ensure better lives for ourselves and our families.” Has she considered the family member who was aborted?

She wrote that women deserve the freedom to make health choices because we are human beings. The baby who dies in an abortion is a human being as well, deprived of the basic freedom to live.

Levenstein wrote that most North Carolinians want true freedom to make health decisions “without political agendas getting in the way.” As a North Carolinian and a human being, I object to the political agenda of those who would attempt to convince North Carolina and the nation that abortion on demand is a good health choice.
