Rick Roeder: SEANC regressing

Regarding the April 18 news article “New leader charts comeback for SEANC”: The article lets the SEANC executive committee off the hook and praises the new executive director for taking SEANC back in time instead of reforming it.

The first action of SEANC’s new executive director should have been to ask for the resignations of the members of SEANC’s executive committee. Instead he put its employees back into the old, calcified state government system where in many cases employees can’t be fired, even if warranted and appropriate.

What we need is reform, not going back to “the old way.” The other changes he has done or announced are worthwhile but standard operating procedure for most businesses.
