Mel Kilberg: Seniors failed to ‘read their lips’
It seems that a lot of seniors are complaining that their large deductions for medical expenses have been abolished. Ask them who they voted for or whether they voted at all. If they voted Republican, then they got what they voted for. And they deserve the democracy they have.
They don’t take the Republicans seriously when they say that they will not raise taxes on the rich. The Republicans are honest. They will do what they say.
The state needs lots of money to run. Where will we get that money? It seems that the seniors are a good place to start. Keep voting Republican, and they will get more of the same.
Now, the governor wants to raise a billion-dollar bond bill. Who will buy these bonds? The rich. Who will pay the millions of dollars in interest? Take a guess!
Take the Republicans seriously. Read their lips.
