Dave Maxey: The dangerous aardwolf

Our new Republican-controlled legislature (after 100 years) is going wild. Seems like every Republican member has a favorite new law to implement.

According to the April 25 news article “Bill targets wild animal owners” “House Bill 554 would make it illegal for members of the public to possess, sell, transfer or breed dangerous wild animals, defined as red and gray wolves, all feline species except domesticated cats, and all species of hyena, aardwolf, bear and primates.”

Anything in that stand out? What the heck is an aardwolf? Good o’ Wikipedia says, “The aardwolf lives in the scrublands of eastern and southern Africa. ... Their diet consists mainly of termites and insect larvae.”

We’re apparently in danger of being licked by “its long, sticky tongue” it uses to capture them.
