Lloyd Brewer: Doesn’t add up
Regarding the April 29 letter “The sales-tax fog”: State Rep. Paul Stam must think we are stupid or failed at math, as he obviously did. My North Carolina income taxes went up by $569. The 1 percent reduction in sales tax in July 2011 would have required that I spend more than my income to make up the $569.
