Sandy Blinkhorn: Stay out of women’s issues

Regarding the April 24 news article “Split House approves longer abortion wait”: This pro-choice woman is not behind HB 465.

Rep. Jacqueline Schaffer and the religious fundamentalist, busy-body brigade of Republicans in our legislature are wrong about the beliefs and needs of North Carolina women.

We are perfectly capable of managing all the decisions we have to make regarding our reproductive systems.

They should be charged with dereliction of duty. They need to get to work on the substantive issues that matter to the women of this state – family policy issues including paid leave, equality of pay, stronger public education for our children, affordable accessible higher education for ourselves and our children, a clean healthy environment in which to live and fair, progressive taxation.
