Dan DiPerna: The poor’s power

I am in general agreement with William Massey’s May 6 Point of View “Of rich, poor, right, wrong – not race.”

However, his remedy of more demonstrations and protest is more than is necessary. All that is needed to correct the current societal problems we face is voting!

No amount of gerrymandering could counter a voter turnout of 80 percent or 90 percent among the “down and out.”

The old saying of “people get the kind of government they deserve” needs to be modified into “People get the kind of government they vote (or don’t vote) for.”
