Nancy Davis: Religion vs. law
Regarding the May 4 Points of View “What God designed” and “Using selective literalism”: After reading the two opinion pieces about the Bible and same-sex marriage, I felt compelled to remind readers that it really does not matter what the Bible says when we are dealing with law and same-sex marriage.
The First Amendment does not allow the establishment of religion. By all means, let our churches decide what relationships to bless based or their reading of their holy text. But it is unconstitutional to enshrine any religious view in law.
