John Holtz: Sunday hunting no threat to religious services
Regarding the March 13 Point of View “Weakening the value of ‘the Lord’s Day’”: I am sorry for Rev. Mark Creech, but allowing hunting or other nonworshiping activities on Sunday is not an “assault” on his religious liberties.
Is he being forced to attend a place of worship that he doesn’t recognize or marry someone against his will? No, then no assault.
Americans, especially the younger generation, are increasingly considering themselves secular, spiritual or nonreligious.
Perhaps Americans are seeing that following the tenets of a book of fairy tales written by semi-literate desert people is actually quite silly and that having to listen to someone living off taxpayer money moralizing at them and thinking they know more about God’s plan (whoever they may worship) as arrogant.
