Randy Castleberry: Wrong-headed on incentives
Our legislature’s unwillingness to use incentives to recruit quality employers to our state is yet another example of their choosing illogical ideology over economic logic. How stunningly shallow.
Lowering the corporate tax rate will not even “move the needle” as long as our competitor states offer commercially viable incentives.
It’s difficult to remember an example of legislative behavior more narrow-minded and wrong-headed.
At least North Carolina leads the nation in one notable category: “Senators who believe the world is flat.”
