Chelsea Barnes: Hager’s real interest

In the May 20 Under the Dome item “Hager’s effort gains traction,” it said, “Hager and others oppose government helping out a specific industry, saying it drives up electricity rates.”

Apparently Rep. Mike Hager has no problem helping out one specific company, Duke Energy, which happens to be his former employer and has a monopoly in our state.

It’s hard to buy his rhetoric about “helping the little guy” when he is obviously looking to protect the largest utility company in the country from having to compete with solar energy.
