Emily Holloway: Tough job, isn’t it?
In regard to the May 21 news article “UNC search panel debates how to identify next leader”: I would like to respond to a statement from Terrence MacTaggart (a senior fellow brought in from the Association of Governing Boards as an adviser) that it will be a tall order to find someone who can do the job of UNC system president.
He said the bar is really high. How high can the bar be when he said, “Just getting a pretty good president ain’t good enough”? Isn’t it a shame that Tom Ross isn’t allowed to continue the excellent standards a university president should embody?
