Jim Fenwick: Luddy’s special interests

Regarding the May 21 news article “Donor withholds $25,000 from GOP”: Bob Luddy diverted $25,000 from state House Republicans as the proposed budget does not meet his interests of additional tax cuts and reducing tax breaks for specific industries. No gain, no pay?

Donations to the N.C. Republican Party by Luddy were $160,000. I assume these donations were made for the purpose of getting something that Luddy wanted.

My laugh-out-loud moment is when Luddy said, “If there is anything that really upsets me, it’s special interests.”

Luddy should ease up on his self-criticism.
