Stirling Haig: Words to the wise
Regarding the May 26 editorial “Talk’s not cheap”: In the matter of Hillary Clinton’s huge speaking fees, you sternly summoned her to provide the public with “a more fulsome explanation” than she has given.
The public knows something of her character and is no doubt quite certain that she will fully comply fulsomely.
Still, wouldn’t it be more desirable to have her provide “a fuller explanation”?
The N&O and Clinton might consider joining forces to oppose the exploitation of the poor. Is it not offensive to the public conscience that in Cleveland, as you report on Page 13A, a “large group of demonstrators gathered in an alley and refused to disburse”?
