J.D. Howard: Defeats and dreams
Regarding Ned Barnett’s May 24 column “Grounding the American dream”: The American dream is alive and well, just not at Barnett’s desk. Only a socialist like Barnett could spin the Wright brothers’ story of heroic human triumph into a woe-is-me defeat.
Their story is distinctly American, and I believe dreams such as theirs still exist in all facets of American life.
